Gillett Entertainment Group is pleased to announce the long-awaited return of Peter Gabriel to the Bell Centre on April 28, 2010.
On the heels of the announcement of his forthcoming CD ‘Scratch My Back’ set for release February 16th, Peter Gabriel announced several North American shows. The shows will feature Peter performing two sets in concert with a 54-piece orchestra, no drums, no guitar. The first set will feature songs from the recent album, and the second set will be a selection of Peter’s original songs. Show dates are:
Wed/Apr-28 Montreal, QC Bell Centre
Sun/May-02 New York, NY Radio City Music Hall
Mon/May-03 New York, N Y Radio City Music Hall
Fri/May-07 Los Angeles , CA Hollywood Bowl.
Peter Gabriel describes his most recent album as a very personal one with twelve songs performed only with orchestral instruments and voice. The album’s richly diverse sounds include the sparse romance of Lou Reed’s ‘The Power of the Heart’, the powerful musical journey of Elbow’s ‘Mirrorball’ and an epic arrangement of Arcade Fire’s ‘My Body Is A Cage.’ The effort will be released on Tuesday, February 16th.
Peter Gabriel has earned a worldwide reputation for his innovative work as a musician, writer, and video maker. He co-founded the group Genesis while still in school, eventually leaving in 1975. Gabriel has released eleven solo albums and in 1986, his album 'So' won him his first Grammy.
Peter Gabriel last performed 3 times at the Bell Centre during the worldwide “Up” tour in 2002-2003.
